2014 US Open Pure Silver Flip Coin - Mixed Doubles Finals - MEIGRAY LOA - Tennis

In 2013, the USTA and The MeiGray Group introduced a pure silver Flip Coin to be used on court by each chair referee for the pre-match coin flip designating the player who serves first at each Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals match in Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles.  They continued this process in 2014 but all doubles draws only used special coins for the Finals.
These uniquely minted coins were limited to one per match. Each coin was individually serial numbered, and authenticated on court by a USTA-MeiGray authenticator who received the coin from the chair referee on court immediately after the flip was completed between the players.
Offered here is the actual coin flipped prior to the MIXED DOUBLES FINALS match featuring Sania Mirza & Bruno Soares vs. Abigail Spears & Santiago Gonzalez on September 5, 2014 on Arthur Ashe Stadium court. The one troy ounce .999 silver coin features a "heads" side with the US Open logo and "Finals 2014" and a "tails" side showing two tennis rackets and "2014 US Open Tennis Championships". The coin is numbered 0005 on the edge. The coin is accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from USTA-Meigray as well as documentation from The Highland Mint.
Sania Mirza and Bruno Soares won the title, defeating Abigail Spears and Santiago González 6–1, 2–6, [11–9] in the final.
