12.5 x 10 inch hand painted cel from the 1970s Filmation series
"
The New Adventures of Batman and Robin
."
This series is often cited as the BEST Batman cartoon ever made. Subsequent productions of the Superfirends and other Hanna Barbera creations are sited as inferior as the caped crusader was paired with Scooby-doo and the Harlem Globetrotters. Weird!
This series was the only one to feature Adam West and Burt Ward as the voices of the characters they made famous.
Cel is in great shape, as it is displayed on a hand Painted production background from the series. Truly a great piece for any Batman fan.
BONUS:
We recently got this piece autographed by the voice of
Batman for THIS series...Adam West. With Beckett Letter of Authenticity.
As you know it's super rare that we have Adam's signature without a personification.
This is an original
Production cel of Batman. All hand painted.
The background consists of a color copy background. Cel size is approximately 12.5 x 10 inches. Batman measures 6 x 7. Hand signed by Adam West with a COA/Letter of Authenticity from Beckett. has the Filmation Logo embossed onto the cel.
BIO: Adam West (born William West Anderson on September 19, 1928-Died June 10, 2017)
is an American actor who is known for playing the role of Principal Schwinger on the TV series The Adventures of Pete & Pete and Batman/Bruce Wayne on the TV series Batman (which also had a film adaptation).
Early roles: In Hawaii, West landed a role as the sidekick on a children's show called The Kini Popo Show, which featured a chimp. West later took over as the star of the show.  In 1959, West moved to Hollywood and took the stage name, "Adam West." He co-starred in the film, The Young Philadelphia's, with Paul Newman, and guest starred in a number of television Westerns. He made a brief appearance on the 1964 film Robinson Crusoe on Mars.
Adam West as Batman. Batman  Main articles: Batman (TV series) and Batman (1966 film) Producer William Dozier cast West as Batman and his alter ego, Bruce Wayne, in Batman, the hit television series. The popular, campy show ran from 1966 to 1968; a film version was released in 1966.
After 120 episodes as Batman, West found himself typecast and spent the next few years trying to remake himself. In his first role after the series ended, he starred as Johnny Cain, a smooth talking nightclub owner involved with the CIA, in the 1969 film The Girl Who Knew Too Much. The film's promotional materials tried to capitalize on West's success as Batman.
During the 1970s and 1980s, West appeared in a number of B movies, including The Happy Hooker Goes To Hollywood about the famed call girl, Xaviera Hollander. He also guest starred in episodes of several popular television series, including Love American Style, Emergency!, Laverne & Shirley, and The Love Boat.
Return to the Batman role During this period, West often played the voice of Batman, first in the short-lived animated series, The New Adventures of Batman, and in other shows like SuperFriends: The Legendary Super Powers Show, The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians. In 1979, West once again put on the Batsuit for the live-action TV special, Legends of the Superheroes.
West continued to maintain an association with the character that made him famous. He had a cameo appearance in a 1992 episode of Batman: The Animated Series on Fox, but not as Batman. Instead, West ironically voiced the part of a washed-up actor who used to play a superhero in a TV series called "The Gray Ghost" and who, now typecast as the Gray Ghost, has difficulty finding work. West later had a recurring role as the voice of Mayor Grange in the WB animated series The Batman.
