Vintage Black Lacquer Gold Red Abalone Accent Design Mt Fiji Pagoda Bridge Trees Boats Birds. Lacquer box has full front design with Mt Fiji in background along with a boat wasen with abalone mother of pearl sail, birds, temple or such, hill, bridge and waves. Was very dirty when found likely could use additional cleaning did minimal to avoid hurting design. Small amount of roughness around inside box edge that has gold gilt accent. Wear on bottom suggests same era as matchstick holder likely 1950’s or 60’s in there. Box measures approx. 5” long, 4” wide and 1½” tall/deep.
