WATERMAN 52 BHR , LF, GFT, 18KT REPLACEMENT IDEAL NIB, c1924, EXC. COND.

Description

This listing is for a very nice WATERMAN 52  fountain pen
in black  hard rubber with gold filled trim. The pen measures 5-3/8" long. Gold filled trim is excellent except for some possible light brassing of the clip ball. There is not a chased pen and it  is toned somewhat with a demarcation line which runs around the pen at the lever, where it become darker (less toned) toward the base of the barrel. All 3 imprints are worn, but still readable with the 52 at the base still bold. It is a lever filled pen and will need a new  sac before it will take up ink. Beyond the normal toning and wear, there are no cracks, chips or scratches/abrasions to the pen
. The original #2 nib that was on the pen was bady wrinkled and bent. My spare #2's  seemed too small for the pen so I replaced it with a WATERMAN'S, IDEAL, PARIS, 18K 750, FRANCE nib, recovered from a GENTLEMAN that was otherwise damaged. It seems to fit perfectly and has modest flexibility.  It is a fine point, straight, with good tip material. Pen is from about 1924. Great pen and a better nib
