    Description

    Antique gold nibbed Waterman's Ideal New York 4 14k or 18k pen. The pen is marked WATERMAN'S IDEAL FOUNTAIN PEN, N.Y. U.S.A. PAT'D. 1884 MAY 23. 1899 & AUG. 4. 1903. The pen has a fancy geometric design. The bottom of the pen has an impressed number 14. The cap is missing and the pen is more black where the cap was and brown where it was not. It looks like it is made of hard rubber. I did not try to force the nib out and see if it is 14 or 18 K but it is definitely one or the other. The pen is from the early 1900's and shows use wear. It measures 4 3/4" long from the base to the point of the nib. The pictures accurately show its condition.
