    Description

Offered is a group of 11 letters in their correct envelopes sent to Raleigh, North Carolina dated between October 6, 1945 and January 19, 1946 from a Captain with the 3rd Photo Recon Squadron on Guam along with 8 photos showing B-29s, all found together. Three photos show the identification number 42-93900 which was a B-29 converted to a F-13A for reconnaissance missions by the 3rd Photo Recon Squadron. Research indicates that the pilot was Les Langhans Jr. and plane was nicknamed "Les's Best". That name is not marked on any plane in the photos, only 293900. Markings on planes in other photos are K-276, Capt. Jack and Double. Last letter in January says that he is heading home from Saipan and will board the USS Santee aircraft carrier, then to Los Angles and finally Ft Bragg. Please use images to assist with condition. Shipped ground advantage package service at 6.50 in US with delivery confirmation included. Will combine shipping. Thanks.
