Description
An original World War Two letter including the cover that was written by Lieutenant Eugene Valic who was in the 255th Infantry. It is dated 1945 Winterberg Germany. In one area it looks like he says,.................had a very close call just recently. We tried to rejoin the Regiment at night in unknown country, and were stopped by our own outposts just in the nick of time. Providence was with us that night or we would have entered a town still held by the enemy. K_aut dead are all over the country side...........We entered a town.....and found a young woman slumped over the wheel of an expensive car. She had flowing blond hair, and a pretty face, and not.........But she was dead, a piece of shrapnel through the chest made a hole as big as a fist.........enough.......to identify the girl as a memeber of the Nasi........One less "Superwoman" to worry about......... The cover has the send to address of Niagara Falls New York.I currently have other items listed that belonged to this individual.
The letter and cover have some wear and stain marks in areas.
